Symbolism Post

I feel like sometimes I am much like the mythical creature know as a unicorn. In these next couple of paragraphs I will explain why I feel like this.

To start off I am the firstborn in my family.  So my younger brothers always have seemed look up to me.  Not only have I had my brothers look up to me but others that I treat with respect and kindness.  The white of the unicorn shows my open mind toward others.  The background represents that life isnt always going to be a ball of a time.

There will be dark times and there will be light times. That no matter how green the grass was on the other side that jumping from side to side would never make me who I am today.  And when I talk about the grass being greener on the other side I am referring to my parents being divorced.  Though things got bad I  did not just move to the other parents house to feel better in the moment.  That was just not the way families work.

The wings of the Unicorn represent the freedom and creative that I have with being the oldest brother.  I have always grew up with a little more privilege compared to my brothers.  I feel that this has also made me who I am today. It gave me the chance to get out of my comfort zone and try new things.  And who wouldn't want to try new things? To me, routine just kills.

And last but not least the horn, that represents my passion to be a leaders opposed to a follower.  One time that I will never forget is the time that a man stopped me outside of 7-11, He might have been drunk or on drugs I couldn't tell, but he asked me if i was a follower or a leader. I told him that I am a leader and the speech this man gave me was like no other I have ever heard.  He made me feel like a true leader that day. For all I knew he created a new self-esteem for me. I walked home on cloud nine that day.

And this is why I feel like a Unicorn, and choose the unicorn to represent myself in this blog post.

On My SoapBox

Ipads

I feel like that the school giving students Ipads was like giving people one thousand dollars that can only be spent on toothpaste.  The reason I say this is because it is like toothpaste we use these Ipads once or twice a day and kids don't use the Ipads for education, heck half of the freshmen run out of battery before 12th period. Was this a good idea?

Pathos: What about all those students who have never had an electronic device? Was the schools idea to make people like myself bring everyone else up to speed on how to use these devices?

Logos: Wouldn't it have been logical to buy Google Chrome Books.  They are hundreds of dollars cheap and not only that you can actually type a document in a reasonable time.  I mean the school had good intentions with the Ipads, but why Ipads? With the Google Chrome Book has Google Docs on it because it is Google.  Not to mention the Play Store does not have tons of games to distract students who get off track easily. Teachers are always getting onto students about playing with their Ipads, how many people are face-booking on a laptop in the middle of class?  None are because they are on these Ipads.

Ethos: Anyone who has used a touchscreen phone knows that typing anything more than a paragraph can become a pain in the rear.  Why would you not go with the cheaper, more efficient Google Chrome Book? I would much rather not use the Ipad, I end up carrying all the books still and an Ipad I hardly use.

And one last thing, if you are going to spend thousands of dollars on Ipads, at least make it part of the school.  I use it in English and maybe Physics because all other teachers hate Apple.  So now I carry a device I could care less about and all the normal text books.

This Device Cost $500 without a case.  The case cost an extra  $70.

This Device cost $200 without a case.  The case is an extra  $20
and for $25 you can also have a protect travel case.

A day in the life of me

To start this day off we will begin in the morning roughly around 6:00 A.M.
I wake up, not because I want to, but because my alarm clock doesn't get enough attention and tends to do things to get my attention .  So after I get my alarm clock to bed I go to the bathroom and shower.  The best thing in the morning besides breakfast.  Now that I have got fresh for the day I got to GISH.  From here I get on the CPI bus, which normally takes anywhere from 10-20 minutes then an additional 10 on the bus.

Now that I am at the future of Americas learning facilities,  I learn about Engineer Drafting for three hours.
Below is something I made in about one hour.  This is what I do for the first half of the morning.
A few simple things I can do with Auto-Cad ( Automatic Computer Aided Design)
Now on to when I go to Senior High.  I now go straight to class, no lunch.  It is all about that free education in the life of Austin.  So on to government class, then afterwards I go to my amazing English class.  After that I go to ROTC.  But for anyone who is saying they feel sorry for me, don't, it is not like I got into fights in normal P.E. and the last resort was ROTC.  It was my choose, so don't feel bad for me, look at me as the future of Merica'. Now I go through physics, which you can say is a hit. After a long day I finish it up with Math.

Now I go home and sleep for a couple hours, only to wake up to an upset alarm clock again.  After I have rested the good ol' brain I work on homework until dinner is ready. After dinner I play on my computer until about 10 then its time for bed.
And that is a day in the life of Austin.

Creation Myth - Why is the Moon There?

Creation Myth

When I was younger I always wondered what the moon was made of and how the moon got to where it was.  I was always told that the moon was made of cheese. Not only was it made of cheese but once a month the people who lived on the cheese planet would eat all of the cheese.  Then from surrounding planets the cheese was collected.  The reason these people collected the cheese was so that we would have light at night.  They ate the cheese every month because they didn't want to waste all the cheese they spent time harvesting.
Even if my parent would have took the time to sit down and tell me that another planet, or space debris hit the earth, knocking debris into space and gravitation formed the spherical rock we know as the Moon.  I still would have asked another million questions.  So I guess it was easier to tell a 6 year old that the moon was made of cheese.  But I still had some questions, One time when I was outside admiring the moon my dad told me that the moon was a "blue moon" . I thought he meant the cheese planet was made of blue cheese now because they got sick of normal craft singles cheese or something along those lines. (but hey I was 6 years old, and believed the moon was made of cheese.)
But like any good parent when I was old enough to understand, my parents let me know that the moon was not made of cheese, and that was a myth spread by cats so that they could catch mice.  Well I don't know who is stupider for falling for the myth, me or the mice.

Austin's about me.

About Me

Family / Life:

My father and mother meet in Oregon, but shortly after that moved to Washington state.  This is where I was born, I only lived there for a few months before my father brought our family to Colorado.  This is where I grew up and spent a majority of my life.  Then my parents got divorced. My father moved my two brothers (Kyle and Logan) to Phoenix, Arizona. We lived in Arizona for a good year and a half , before we moved to Nevada, this is where my dad meet my step mother. After living in Nevada for some time, our house was to small for our growing family. Without even telling us, my dad looked for a better job. This is how we ended up moving to Louisiana. Our family only lived there for a year before my dad was offered a job at CASE. So here we were again moving to a new place with new people.  That is how I ended up in Nebraska.

Interests:

Ever since I was younger and saw the blue angles fly over head, I have wanted to be a pilot in the Air Force.  I planned after serving my country for how ever long I plan to serve to become an Architect. Two very great jobs but both require hard work and time.  I currently am in JROTC for when I get into the military I start as a Officer with benefits.  For the other dreams I have I am in the CPI building doing Drafting this year and next year I will have Architecture and design.
Before the Military Ball 2012

Hobbies:

Some of my hobbies include making music, videos, video editing, and video gaming. I bought with my detassling money a nice, compact video recording camera used to make my blog videos.  I am still learning to make music through online and downloadable software, but wont stop until I am 30 songs deep into the software.

Most of my inspiration to make videos comes from growing up, watching Smosh videos.  I always thought they were the funniest people on YouTube.  I remember I would sit there for days on end trying to keep up with current and past videos that they had posted and never getting bored.  I think I have many ideas of what I would like to do in life but not enough time to do everything, so I have to choose the important things.  If I could live to be 200 I would be the most accomplished man anyone has know.

Every night I also take my younger brother Jake to the park near our house.  We normally spend 30 -60 minutes just messing around on the playground.  Occasionally I can get my brother Kyle to come to the park with us and make videos.   I think I consider spending time with my family a hobby because I do it so often.  When I think of being a teenager I feel like I sound be a rebel and all that, but don't see how someone could ignore their entire family day after day and be OK with it. I make the days count,
